Description

We have had a long-term dream of camp being accessible in every regard, including financially. We are excited that Family HEART Camp Ohioana continues to be free. We love the idea of living in a world that utilizes a gift economy and trust FHC Ohioana will continue to be sustainable through generous donations and matching funds.

A gift economy is a system where individuals share resources based on social relationships, community needs, and mutual support. In such economies, the value of a gift lies in the act of giving itself, fostering connections and reinforcing social bonds. At its very essence, transactions within a gift economy are given based on both what is possible and what is joyful for each individual or family.

We know magic can happen when we work together with a shared vision. We hope you will consider supporting this dream with a financial contribution that is comfortable for you. We are trusting in abundance and inspired by our incredible community.

To support this dream please take the following steps:

  • Register for camp by March 1st to support planning and shared understanding
  • If you would like to make a financial contribution to support the sustainability of the camp, please use the “Donate” button on our website, or select "Donate" on the check out page
  • If you have questions about the gift economy, please reach out to your camp host at: [email protected]

LODGING OPTIONS

Lutheran Hills offers three types of lodging for Family HEART Campers.

  • Cottage / Lodge
Indoor accommodations featuring private rooms with shared bathrooms and central air conditioning. Pillows and linens are provided.

  • Shared Cabin
Indoor accommodations featuring bunkbeds in an air conditioned, shared space. You bring your own bedding (linens, blankets or sleeping bags, pillows) or these items are available to rent for a small, additional fee. Each cabin sleeps up to 13 people, so smaller families will likely be asked to share a cabin. Depending on size and availability, larger families may be able to have an entire cabin to themselves. The bathrooms and shower facility are a short walk away from the cabins.

  • Tent Camping:
Five electrical hook-ups are provided around the campground. There are ample basic camping sites available around the lake, and campers have access to a bathhouse with toilets and showers. Campers are responsible for providing all of their own camping equipment.

NOTE: You will need to bring your own bedding for the shared cabins and tent camping.
